    1. After receiving this book in exchange for an honest review the first thing I can say about it is I would have happily payed for it. The story is refreshingly original and I found it hard to put down. A mysterious event has befallen the US with people being reduced to either a mindless staring bunch or a blood crazed violent hoard. Not all are affected by the event though and the story follows a character by the name of Hayes, as he tries to get back home to his girlfriend. The ending of this boo [...]

    2. I was given this book for free in exchange for an honest review. You will find the review below:The Last Stonestepper is a pretty good read except for part near the end. I enjoyed the narrator and his dilemma. The trigger event was believable and was explained slowly but not frustratingly slowly. The ending was satifsying and becomes more so over time. However, there is a section in which the narrator seems to go over the same information again and again; I felt like shouting, "I know that alread [...]

    3. I received a free copy of this book for an honest review. And I'm sure glad I did!! You can see my official review at:forumsinebookclub/viewWhat an awesome book!! Crazies, fighting, and love--this book had it all. Will you HAVE what it takes to survive a catastrophic event? Is love enough? An edge of your seat, introspective tale!!

    4. A love storyThis was a love story, an apocalyptic event, and the end of the world as we know it. No zombies, but plenty of crazies and mind scrambled others who just want to be left alone in whatever world they are in. The crazies want to rip you limb to limb. Matt and Kristen, his girlfriend, live in Minnesota. Matt is headed to California with his original screen play and producers who are very interested in his work. But something happens on that plane ride that changes everything we know. Ma [...]

    5. ***I received a free copy in exchange for a book review***I loved this 30 chapter book. It was suspenseful and full of action. Chills ran down my spine when Matthew (a.k.a. Hayes) and other passengers were on the plane. Everything was cool at first, in fact, I thought it was pretty cool that he was making friends with people in his row. Hayes went into the bathroom. He saw a flash, then had a headache. All hell broke loose after that! I also loved the mystery aspect of “The Event.” Why did s [...]

    6. The Last Stonestepper by Elliot Logan is indisputably one of my favorite books that I had the honor of receiving for an honest review. While this book is of a sci-fi flavor the story itself for me was one of a human story. It actually delves into the question of what it means to truly live, consequences of not doing so and the balance of happiness in life and death. Having said this, I don’t want readers to think that this is a story that tries to jam down someone’s ideals and morals as the [...]

    7. I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. If you are a fan of Zombie books or post-apocalyptic fiction in general, then this story is definitely worth a read. When the "event" happens, the story gets exciting very quickly. I loved the airplane sequence. There are a few nice details in the story, such as why it might not be as easy to jack a car in the apocalypse as you might think. The crazies were much creepier and scarier than traditional Zombies tend to be (this is no [...]

    8. *I was given this book, in exchange for a review*Love, it seems simple right? But it's very complex between two people. Matt Hayes, is on the brink of being someone, finally. He is flying out to Hollywood to sell a movie script. His adoring/loving girlfriend drops him off at the airport. While on the flight, something happens. Something that changes the people. Doesn't kill them, they aren't zombies, but makes them simple or aggressive. Hayes and 2 others are spared this fate, how they don't kno [...]

    9. Hayes' whole future is paved in gold as it stretches out ahead of him. Hollywood is interested in his movie script and he is with the woman he truly loves (this you will believe without a doubt at the end of the story). But then while Hayes is hundreds of miles away from Kristin, something happens that abruptly ends all of this. Hayes is determined to get back to Kristin, but he is a stonestepper - someone who never takes any chances, never takes any risks. This well written story of an apocalypt [...]

    10. I received a copy of this in exchange for an honest review.A very satisfying, quick read. It reads more like a novella than a book, but doesn't really lose anything for it. This is a vivdly imagined world, and you feel yourself in the moment with the characters. It has a few seriously creepy moments as well - my heart raced right along with theirs!I thought it ended a little abruptly, but that's a matter of personal preference more than anything else.A solid read.

    11. This book reminds me of a book I read years ago called "Mayday". Truly did not end the way I thought it would and left a lot of questions unanswered for me.
